The story of Shabby Craft Boutique starts long before the first product hit the shelves—long before I even knew what a craft boutique would be. It began with a spark of creativity in my school days in India, where I first picked up a calligraphy pen and started to explore the art of elegant lettering. From there, my journey grew through lessons, hands-on classes, and self-taught adventures, each step shaping my love for art. Let’s take a step back and revisit where it all began—the very start of my artistic path that led me to create the boutique I cherish today.

Calligraphy: My First Brush with Art

My love for calligraphy started back in India during my school years. I remember being captivated by the graceful, flowing curves of elegant letters. To channel this fascination, I enrolled in a calligraphy class that introduced me to the delicate art of beautiful writing. Learning to make every stroke count was an exhilarating process. From simple alphabets to intricate scripts, each curve and swirl felt like a dance of the pen across paper. Little did I know, this would lay the foundation for my journey into the world of arts and crafts.

Charcoal Painting: From Letters to Shadows

After completing my calligraphy course, I sought to express my creativity in a different form, and that’s when I discovered charcoal painting. This hands-on class in India taught me the magic of shading and texture, transforming simple charcoal into a piece of art. I quickly fell in love with the dramatic contrasts and depth charcoal could bring to a painting. It was a whole new world where dark and light coexisted to create beauty—an artistic expression I never knew I needed but couldn’t live without.

Elementary Painting: An Exploration of New Techniques

Art is all about discovery, and that's what my examination in elementary painting was all about. I explored various techniques, colors, and compositions, learning how to balance simplicity with complexity. It was like a treasure hunt for the perfect mix of form and function. Whether it was sketching basic shapes or creating full-fledged canvases, each piece was an adventure, and every lesson expanded my artistic horizon.
